You own this wonderful CD and you want to upload it on this forum !
Here are the steps to follow :
0-The softwares used are :
Exact Audio Copy
Foobar2000
FLAC Frontend
WinRAR
1-Rip the CD into WAVE using Exact Audio Copy :
Insert your CD in your player and launch Exact Audio Copy
You see this window (if not, the good CD player is not selected, you can select on *):
(When I insert my CD, Exact Audio Copy auto-detect the CD and write de songs title, if it doesn't, click on the little CD near the *. If it still doesn't work, you can enter the titles by yourself)
Then clik on Image + CUE.
(This will create a big WAVE file containing the whole album + a CUE sheet file informing the different tracks.
If you want to create a WAVE file for each song, click on WAV on the top, but prefer Image + CUE)
Then you have to choose the directory where you want to save the WAVE :
Then EAC (Exact Audio Copy) detect "Pre-Track Gaps" to create the CUE sheet file :
And EAC rip the CD (checking if there isn't any read errors) :
When it is finished, the LOG is shown, cick on and save it in the same directory as the WAVE and the CUE.
You have now three files in the selected folder :
You can open the CUE file with Foobar2000 :
2-Convert WAVE into FLAC
Open FLAC frontend, click on Add Files and select your WAVE file, set compression level on 8 (the best compression for the lower size).
And then Encode :
At the end :
You have now a new file (here, 130MB smaller) :
3-Finalisation
You can now delete the WAVE file.
To adapt the CUE sheet file for FLAC file, replace the line :
FILE "Peste Noire - Folkfuck Folie.wav" WAVE
By :
FILE "Peste Noire - Folkfuck Folie.flac" WAVE
And you can add the covers you've just scanned.
Your folder's content is now :
If you have anything more to say, you can add a TXT file.
4-Archive it into RAR
Right-click on your folder, Add to archive...
In General, you choose the name : name of the band and year of the release (here : kpn07)
Enter the password : ds
choosing to Encrypt file names
Then "OK", WinRAR start to create the archive :
At the end of this, your archive is ready to be sent !
5-Send archive with megaupload
Go to http://www.megaupload.com/
Select your archive, enter a very short description and then Send
The upload begin
When it is finished, Megaupload gave you the link you must now share in the forum
